This 14-day intensive tour takes you on a journey through the heart of Bangladesh’s UNESCO-listed heritage sites and upcoming sites, from the busy streets of Old Dhaka to a serene cruise through the magical mangroves of the Sundarbans. You will have the opportunity to explore the local bazaars and marketplaces, eat delicious Bengali cuisine, and witness traditional performances and rituals.
As you cruise through the Sundarbans nature sanctuaries and visit the otter fishing village in Narail, you will see nature and local communities coexist peacefully. Furthermore, the tour will take you to Kustia’s spiritual realm, where you can listen to Lalon folk music and seek guidance from spiritual guides. Along the way, you’ll stop by Puthia temple village, which has a stunning collection of terracotta temples, and explore Rajshahi, a medieval town with a rich history and architectural wonders. The journey continues to Chapai Nawabganj, where you can admire the Choto Shona Mosque, Darashbari Mosque, Mughal Tahakhana and many more masterpieces of Islamic architecture.
Further on, you will visit the ancient archaeological sites of Paharpur, Mahasthangarh, and Vasu Vihara, which preserve the remnants of ancient civilizations and provide a glimpse into Bangladesh’s glorious past. On a Ganges and Brahmaputra River cruise, you will be able to visit charming char villages, experience rural life, and see the natural beauty of Bangladesh’s riverine landscapes.
A visit to the first capital of Sonargaon, Panam Nagar is a very special treat and UNESCO Intangible Heritage Jamdani weaving is something that you must see to believe. Day 1: Dhaka Arrival Meet and greet at the airport, transfer to hotel. Explore Rickshaw Painting and vibrant Mirpur.
Day 2: Sonargaon and Jamdani Weaving Visit Sonargaon, Panam Nagar, and UNESCO Jamdani weaving village. Country boat cruise on Meghna River.
Day 3: Bagerhat Backwater tour and visit Bagerhat’s UNESCO World Heritage sites.
Day 4-5: Sundarbans Cruise through the Sundarbans, explore wildlife and local communities.
Day 6: Otter Fishing and Jessore Experience unique otter fishing in Narail. Overnight in Jessore.
