Faiham Ebna Sharif

Faiham Ebna Sharif (1985 – Present) is an independent journalist, photographer and researcher. He is from and based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Currently, Faiham is pursuing a two-year master’s degree in Cultural Anthropology at Uppsala University, Sweden. Earlier, he graduated and post-graduated in International Relations from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He also took a One Year Diploma in Photography from Counter Foto – A Center for Visual Arts, Bangladesh, where he is a casual faculty member.
Faiham worked for local and international media outlets. He was a newsroom editor cum presenter in a national news and current affairs television channel. He also worked as a multimedia journalist for bdnews24.com on an assignment basis. Before coming into news media, Faiham also worked for national and international fiction and non-fiction projects like documentaries, feature films, reality shows, etc.
Currently, his practices are mostly based on long-term projects associated with research and documentary photography. He is doing a long-term documentary photography research project on tea. His other projects are on the film industry, Rohingya people, people living with HIV/AIDS, climate change, local buses, etc.
Travelling and tourism have always been his passion. Under his leadership, Royal Bengal Tours has accomplished quite a number of international documentaries and TV programs in Bangladesh. Faiham is the honorary In-charge of the filming and media section of Royal Bengal Tours.
