    Photography tour of Dhaka

Two of us who are keen photographers decided to travel to Dhaka for a 4-day photographic trip. We discussed the itinerary with Jewel and we left him to decide for us the places we should visit. The places we visited included Sadarghat, Old Dhaka, ship building yard, market places, brick factory, Bihari slum, Kanchpur area to photograph labourers unl;oading coal and sand, etc. The human interests in these places and many others represent a part of Dhaka where many tourists might not see. All in we were very happy for Jewel to guide us and show us the places with great human interests. We will definitely use him again should be go back to Bangladesh

    A First Class Tour Operator!

I just returned from a brief trip to Dhaka, where I spent two full days touring the city with Mittu (sorry if I misspelled the name). It was a remarkable two days and I feel like I received an excellent introduction into Bangladesh with Royal Bengal Tours.

Dealing with Jewel prior to my visit was extremely easy and straightforward. He answered all of my questions very quickly and thoroughly, and made great suggestions in terms of what I should see. It was one of the most efficient “planning operations” I have gone through with a tour company and Jewel fully understood what I was looking for in my tour, which was a focus on street life photography, and made a great plan for my two days.

My guide was outstanding. He is a young, well-educated man with excellent communications skills and a very good grasp of English. He is quite sensitive both to my needs and to the people we were photographing during the tour, seemed to have a fantastic capability to sense what my interests were before I even communicated them to him, was extremely knowledgeable about all things Bangladeshi, and very flexible in terms of our itinerary and scheduled program. On top of all of this, he is a very pleasant guy and a pleasure to converse with.

I will definitely book any future travel to Bangladesh with Royal Bengal Tours, and heartily recommend them to anyone visiting Bangladesh, a truly fascinating country.

Best authentic Bangladesh tour including local and authentic experiences

I went on a solo trip with Royal Bengal Tours (Jewel as guide and Habib as driver) through the beautiful Bangladesh from 13 – 21 April.

Let me start by saying that I had a wonderful time in Bangladesh. Jewel is a gem and I am so happy to have found him and his company for my trip. This probably was one of the best tours I have ever been on. What makes him standout is his deep passion for his country. He is very educated and informed, giving the right amount of information at the right time. Jewel understands travelling for Western people and always made sure I was safe – this included checking the food and responsible driving! You will learn so much about Bangla culture, people, history and politics.

On my trip we went to experience the real Dhaka, the charming Barishal and its amazing floating markets and villages, a sneak peak into the Sundarbans and the otter fishing village, and several days around Rajshahi to explore Mosques, Hindu and Buddhsit temples and amazing villages/tribes. Everything was very well organised, from the first communication with an inspiring itinerary to the execution by letting me know about every step of the trip and tailoring it even on the go to my interests. What absolutely stood out for me (and isn’t advertised anywhere!) is the incredibly beautiful nature and village life that Bangladesh has. Jewel had a vast network and we included several stops to walk through villages, interact with families and often even had lunch with them. What better way to experience Bangladesh than spending time with people? Everybody was so friendly, happy to spend time with us and it was just genuinely authentic – HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

As Jewel is also just a really nice guy to spend time with, I also enjoyed spending time over dinners discussing Bangladesh or what we have seen. It never felt forced and just came naturally.

The added bonus is that he is a photographer and knew the best photo spots and took some amazing photos of us (some even with a drone).

Overall, I couldn’t be happier with the trip and would recommend to everybody to come to Bangladesh to experience this beautiful country. Jewel and Royal Bengal Tours made my trip unique and I wouldn’t want to change a single thing – keep sure to ask for seeing local villages!

Unforgettable Solo Tour with Jewel – A Photographer’s Dream

I did a solo trip with Royal Bangladesh Tours and it turned out to be one of the most rewarding travel experiences of my life. My guide, Jewel, was truly outstanding—warm, knowledgeable, and deeply passionate about his country. From day one, he made me feel completely at ease, and by the end of the trip, I felt like I had made a true friend.

As a photographer, the opportunities were beyond anything I could have imagined. Jewel brought me deep into Old Dhaka, where the energy and color of the city made every frame come alive. He guided me through the surreal beauty of the floating market, and took me to the massive, gritty ship-breaking and ship-building yards—each place offering unforgettable portrait and street photography moments. Thanks to his local insight and connections, I was able to interact with people in an authentic and respectful way, capturing images that felt real and deeply human.

Jewel’s deep knowledge of the culture and history added so much meaning to every stop, and his love for Bangladesh was contagious. I always felt safe, inspired, and completely immersed in the experience.

If you’re a solo traveler—especially one passionate about photography—I can’t recommend Royal Bangladesh Tours and Jewel highly enough. Bangladesh is an extraordinary country, and with Jewel as your guide, you’ll experience it in the most vivid and personal way possible.
